Our application will ask you questions about the home and your financial picture.  Completing the application should take you less than 20 minutes to complete.


After your application is submitted to us, one of our Loan Officers will contact you to answer any questions that you may have. Our Loan Officers are experienced mortgage lenders that are there to guide you through the mortgage process.


Your Loan Officer will make contact with you to gather the additional documents that are required to verify the information you provided about your finances during the online application.


The property will be assigned to a local licensed appraiser who is familiar with the home values in your area. Peoples Federal is responsible for ordering the appraisal.  The appraiser will need to visit and tour the home. 


Title insurance is required. Title insurance is used to ensure that you have or will be receiving clear title to the property.  Refinancing?  We will order the title work from a local title company on your behalf. Purchasing? Peoples Federal will coordinate ordering the title work with your real estate broker or the seller to ensure the title work is completed promptly.


Once your application has been reviewed, underwritten and if approved, you will receive an approval letter from Peoples Federal outlining the various conditions to which your loan is approved. Your Loan Officer will contact you to schedule a closing once we have reviewed the appraisal, title work, closing documents and any other needed documentation.


Your loan closing will be conducted by the Loan Officer that has been with you from the beginning of the process. In almost every case, the closing will be held at whichever of our many offices best suits you.
